Episode 223 The Dream Show: The manky cat and the abyss

Tania, from the south coast of England, brings a short dream that has been baffling her, a dream about a manky cat.

For those of you who are wondering what ‘manky’ means, it’s British slang for dirty, or dirty and old. It’s a word that’s long been in my go-to vocabulary, but I suspect those of you who are not familiar with British English may be, well, as baffled by that word as Tania was about her dream.

Tania has just completed the first of my Dream Academy courses, How to interpret your dreams step-by-step, and has been drawing on the techniques to interpret her dreams and help friends with theirs, but the manky cat dream still mystified her. She had most of it worked out, but felt she was missing something.

We find it and then relate the dream to her life and all becomes clear.

She also mentioned a dream from long ago, in which her father died when he fell into an abyss. When he died a couple of months later, she noticed parallels between the dream and his death that felt comforting. She coveted the dream, feeling it was a premonition, a connection with her father and what he was going through. Now she asks, in the light of her studies with me, was it a premonition, or was it symbolic?
